NECTAR Advanced school on aqua ions and hydrolysis-related equilibria
About: Some chemical elements have characteristics that make the study and understanding of their chemical equilibria particularly difficult. These include elements with a strong hydrolytic character and those with several redox states. Both are the subject of this advanced school. The program will be the result of a dynamic ongoing discussion, please watch for updates.
Date: September 29
th, 2023.
Place: Ruđer Bošković Institute, Zagreb, Croatia.
Confirmed subjects and speakers:
- Strategies and practice in the selection of ‘best’ equilibrium constants by Wolfgang Hummel (Paul Scherrer Institut, Switzerland)
- Application of FAIR principles to equilibrium data by Stuart Chalk (University of North Florida, USA)
- Equilibrium constants for hydrolysable elements: from cradle to table by Montserrat Filella (University of Geneva, Switzerland), in collaboration with Xavier Gaona (KIT-INE, Germany), Taishi Kobayashi (Kyoto University, Japan), Demetrio Milea (Università degli Studi di Messina, Italy)
